COTS Journal has published coverage of the launch of FlightHorizon™ ALERT, Vigilant Aerospace Systems’ fully managed airspace awareness and alerting service for general aviation airports, critical infrastructure sites, and other facilities monitoring nearby aircraft and drones.
The article highlights the service’s low-infrastructure approach to airspace awareness. FlightHorizon ALERT uses a preconfigured receiver unit to track ADS-B In broadcasts from aircraft and Remote ID signals from drones. Users can view nearby traffic on a web-based 3D map and receive automatic notifications by text message or email when activity enters a designated area. Each notification includes access to an event replay for follow-up review and analysis.
COTS Journal also outlines how FlightHorizon ALERT is designed for rapid deployment without requiring personnel to continuously monitor another complex system. The article identifies potential applications around runways, approach areas, ramps, facility perimeters, industrial sites, campuses, and other locations where unexpected aircraft or drone activity may require attention.
