FlightHorizon TEMPO

The Problem

When you are flying uncrewed aircraft, the hard part is knowing what else is in the air around you. Many teams rely on multiple tools and visual observers, which can create gaps and slow decisions.

The Solution

FlightHorizon TEMPO solves this with a clear, shared map that shows nearby air traffic in real time. FlightHorizon TEMPO is a fully integrated, low-risk, fully managed platform built on NASA-licensed detect-and-avoid research. Because it is ground-based, no onboard hardware is required, and it can support fixed sites or portable deployments. FlightHorizon TEMPO integrates ADS-B In, radar, and Remote ID to support airspace awareness and BVLOS readiness with less integration effort and lower complexity.

Live Operating Picture

Instant insights into live airspace activity with our integrated display, ensuring seamless operations and safety.

Multi-Source Track Display

Combine data from  ADS-B In, radar, and remote ID for an accurate and unified airspace view, enhancing decision-making and oversight.

Plug-and-Play

Works with multiple radar models and ADS-B In receivers, can operate with or without radar, and supports Uncrewed Traffic Management (UTM/ADSP) for  networked operations.

Server, Laptop, or Cloud Based

Versions available for portable or fixed locations and online/offline use with any aircraft platform

Built In ConOps

Designed to provide a safety case for waiver or COA support and a variety of certifications

Product Highlights

Monitor your airspace in real time with a dynamic 3D display.

Tracks ownship aircraft and build a real-time picture of air traffic for collision avoidance commands.

Define your own restricted-area geofences with altitude precision and receive instant alerts when aircraft enter protected airspace.

Set altitude-defined containment geofences around your mission aircraft and receive instant alerts if your ownship exits the approved operating area.

Toggle your radar’s field-of-regard on or off directly from the dashboard and view precise sensor location pins, so you always know exactly where coverage begins and ends.

Switch instantly between nine distinct base map views to match your priorities, whether you need terrain detail, satellite imagery, or simplfied clarity.

What Makes FlightHorizon TEMPO Different?

• Uses a multi-sensor approach to integrate and fuse data from multiple sensors and sources.
• Uses a track correlation process to determine which aircraft tracks are duplicates.
• Provides a predicted track trajectory to predict potential loss of safe distances and to calculate an avoidance
maneuver to prevent collisions.
• Incorporates networks of sensors that can cover long flight corridors including entire regions.
• Incorporates the new Remote ID standards with beacons and receivers to track UAS.
• Can be compliant with aviation industry technical standards, depending on hardware.
• Has supporting background research from NASA, flight-testing programs, peer-reviewed research, completed FAA R&D contract and ongoing use at FAA designated UAS testing sites.

Selected Installations

Oklahoma Air & Space Port

Vigilant Aerospace Systems FlightHorizon TEMPO is in use at Clinton-Sherman Airport for the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics to strengthen the site’s long-range UAS test range capability. FlightHorizon TEMPO monitors and manages the installed radars, giving operators a unified view of air traffic across the test area.

Military UAS Training at Gorman Field

Vigilant Aerospace’s FlightHorizon TEMPO supports military UAS training by providing a shared, ground-based common operating picture that enables airspace awareness, monitoring, and coordination during complex training operations at the University of North Dakota.

Other Deployments

NOAA Weather Hazard Research

FlightHorizon TEMPO provided a ground-based, real-time airspace awareness display integrating surveillance and weather data to support safe BVLOS flight testing.

Skyway Range

At Skyway Range, FlightHorizon TEMPO provided the airspace management layer that tracks and coordinates uncrewed aircraft while monitoring surrounding traffic to enable safer long-range BVLOS flight activity
